Financial companies, such as banks and insurance agencies, can share some of the information that they have about you with other companies unless you tell them not to do so. You can refuse to allow the financial company to share most of your information. This is called your right to opt-out. Some information sharing is allowed, however, even if you opt-out, under joint marketing agreements between your financial company and another company.
